Ready...Set...ROLL
Challenge your friends and family or try and beat your own record as you take part in a fun Easter tradition.

EGG ROLLING

Hard boil some eggs (Ask an adult if you need help).

After they have cooled, paint and decorate the eggs however you like - perhaps your egg will be green like Jean-Bob or have painted wings like Odette when she is a Swan.

Mark out a start and finish line and race to the finish using a wooden spoon to roll your egg - why not make this fun race extra challenging by using your nose to roll the egg but be sure to try this method on a soft surface or grass!

EASTER BARK

Ingredients:
2.5 cups dark or milk chocolate
2/3 cup white chocolate
Selection of Easter treats (examples are: cadbury mini egg, chopped, marshmallow peep, chopped, whopper robin egg, crushed, graham cracker, crushed, cake sprinkles)

Line a baking sheet with parchment
Melt the dark/milk chocolate until smooth before pouring it onto the baking sheet.
Melt the white chocolate and place spoonfuls randomly on the dark/milk chocolate.
Use a skewer to make swirly designs in the chocolate.
Sprinkle Easter treats and sweets over the chocolate - the crazier the better!
Leave at room temperature to set and serve shards of the chocolate bark as an Easter treat!

GLUTEN-FREE SHORTBREAD

This delicious treat is gluten free and vegetarian friendly but you can make it with non gluten-free alternatives too!

1 cup Softened Butter
1 cup Powdered Sugar
Grated Zest of 1/2 Orange
Grated Zest of 1 Small Lemon
Grated Zest of 1 Lime
3 cups Gluten-Free Flour
1 tsp Gluten-Free Baking Powder
Sugar (To Serve)

Preheat the oven to 375 F (190 C) and cover a greased baking sheet with parchment.
Beat the butter and then add the powdered sugar and all the zests until the mix is light and fluffy.
Add the flour and baking powder - here comes the messy part - use your hands to form a dough!
Roll the dough out to about a half inch (1 cm) thick and cut into any shape you want - from simple fingers to crazy shapes - they will all taste great!
Prick the surface of each. Put your shortbread onto the tray, then chill in the fridge for 10–15 minutes, before baking in the oven for 12–15 minutes until pale and crisp.
Allow to cool for 5 minutes before sprinkling with sugar.

Princess Odette enjoys her shortbread with fresh berries and cream but Prince Derek prefers melted chocolate whilst Jean Bob doesn't have time to add toppings because he's already eaten his before he gets chance - what will you add to this treat to make it even more delicious?

HOLIDAY HISTORY

Easter is mainly a religious holiday for Christians and coincides with the Jewish celebration of Passover.

But do you know where the Easter Bunny came from?

No one knows for sure, but here are the popular theories...

1.  The symbol of the rabbit may stem from pagan tradition, specifically the festival of Eostre—a goddess of fertility whose animal symbol was a bunny.

2. The Easter bunny came from the German legend of a colorful egg-laying hare called “Osterhase”. Originally this rabbit played a role similar to Santa Claus as a judge for childrens' behavior. Traditionally, nests were made for the rabbit to lay its colored eggs.
